Hospital/bedroom door wreath

by Lauren Self
(Hayden, AL)

This adorable wreath is a little different than the plain old bow on the hospital door! Directions:
This is how…
1 round styrofoam circle, about 9 or 10 rolls ribbon (I used 10 different ones. They are half off at Hobby Lobby some weeks!!)
Cut the ribbon about 5 inches long (long enough to wrap around the ring and double knot)
Wrap the ribbon around and double knot it.
After I completed the wreath I went back and trimmed the edges that were starting to fray.

Deep thought
by: Anonymous

Your assuming of course that everyone births in the hospital. This seems like consumerism and one up man ship gone mad. Get a grip on reality do you really think in the tough times ahead that this sort of stuff will be wanted or needed. Go you for making your own baby food but how about taking control of your birth too.

Response to Deep Thought

To the anonymous poster of "deep thought". Your thought is not quite that deep, and your post is not only rude; it's ridiculous. This is not a forum for you to address your personal agenda or call everyone else on the carpet for theirs. You need to get help with your anger issues. A class from Ms. Manners might be helpful as well.

I appreciate that the author took the time to make this post. I think the wreath is adorable. My daughter is having her first child in March, and I think she'll love this. Thank you!

As it says, it can be for a BEDROOM door as well-not just hospital door. Please keep you 'deep thought' to yourself.

Darling!
by: Tiffany

Lauren-
I think your wreath is absolutely darling!! I am expecting in June and would love to have one hanging on my door. I may have to "rig" it so that my sister brings my creation to hang on my door for me :)

love the wreath
by: Katie

I made a ribbon wreath very similar for a friend of mine to hang on her HOSPITAL door when she had her little girl. It is now hanging on her BEDROOM door. I hung a cute wooden letter decorated with a small bow in center of the wreath (the baby's first initial). Also, adding strips of toule here and there around the wreath adds a nice girly touch.

Anonymous,
Why were you looking at the wreath in the first place?

Precious
by: Donna

Thank you for sharing! My daughter is making me a Grandmother for the first time in June, 2011. However, Charley is a boy! I believe with the instructions, I can pull if off with blue. Thank goodness there is a Hobby Lobby in Gardendale!

cute!
by: Dr. Hanes

That's adorable! I never thought about doing that! I've been wanting to get back into DIY work since I retired, and now that I have a grandbaby on the way I have the perfect excuse!
I'll have to show this to my daughter and see what she thinks about it, and if she would want one. (by the way, she is having a homebirth. Theres no agenda in it, she's not pushing it on any one, she just feels that it is the best way for her baby to enter the world, and the best way for her to enter motherhood. Birth is a deeply personal experience and we shouldn't assume that everyone is going to make the same choice. I wish the best to you all, and hope for the same in return.)

Always has to be someone trying to spoil other peoples fun. The wreath is cute and will be easy to make! Grand baby coming in June should have it done in plenty of time.

My deep Thought
by: Elizabet

I am not sure when Deep Thought wrote her comment but with today's economy thats why we make our own crafts because we are trying to save money or sell our crafts to help out with our household expenses. I appreciate this website and what it offers. There will always be negative, insecure and hateful individuals. However, this should only encourages us keep doing our best!

What a simply adorable craft! It would look cute for either a baby boy or girl and you could do so many different "looks" by just changing the ribbon. It would make an excellent gift. Thank you for sharing :)

First of all this is an adorable idea! Secondly i wish the person that wrote this would take a second in deep thought and realize not everyone can have a home birth or whatever they think. If i hadnt been in a hospital while in labor my daughter wouldnt have survived and it took almost 2 years to get pregnant to begin with. please utilize your brain and think noteveryone has an ideal birth and that is why the drs are there for not so ideal moments i thank god for my team of medical professionals at the hospital that night.

Adorable! NEW
by: Charlotte - Nana to be!

Just suggested to my younger daughter today that I wanted to make a wreath for her sister (due in a couple of weeks!) to use on the hospital & nursery doors! This looks simple enough and is adorable! Looks like I will be whipping one up tomorrow! My neice is expecting in August, so this will make a beautiful gift for her as well! Thanks for sharing!! :)

Wreath NEW
by: Nanna

I did something similar only I used a straw wreath and used leftover fabric from making bedding for baby and cut into 3 in squares. Then use a Phillips head screwdriver to poke into wreath. Repeat around whole wreath. Cute.

I love this it can be made for a boy or girl and many differnt color combinations. I will make one for a baby shower and put on the door to welcome guest but will also go with the theme.
Some people should just keep their thoughts to theirself and stop being rude! or just get a life.
