Nappy Cake ( Some Know It as a Diaper Cake )

4 tier white nappy cake
I have just finished this nappy cake (yes we call them nappies here in the UK) I decided to use a white theme. The nappies I used are 9-20lbs in size and about 80 approx were used. I cut the size tab from the pack of nappies and stuck it to the base of the cake board so that the new parents would remember the size of nappies in the cake.
I rolled each nappy up from the open end and secured with new elastic bands, I made up each tier and secured all the nappies together with a length of thin white string (again a new ball of string). I continued like this until I had four tiers. Each tier was covered on the outer edge with a cellular blanket, then a pram cover on the next tier and a white hooded towel on the second top tier, white bibs covered the top tier. I made up a pack of 5 pairs of white baby socks into rose buds and these went on the top of the cake. Each tier has a length of broad white ribbon around it. Once assembled and complete I covered the whole of the cake in cellophane wrap. Added bows made from broad white ribbon, then I cut a length of ribbon and snipped the ends and ripped it into narrow strips and this made the streamers. I am very pleased with it, as this is only my second nappy cake.
