Recycled Onesie, pillowcase and dinner napkin

by J. Christopher
(Texas)

This onesie had a broken snap, but it's so cute! I decided to cut it in half and sew it to a pillowcase. I used the open end of the pillowcase since it's already hemmed. I didn't really measure, just looked at it and went from there. Then I used a dinner napkin that had crochet trim for an apron. I cut the napkin in half and used part of that to make a simple sash. I made a simple gather and threaded the sash through. The pocket on the apron is made from other pieces from the onesie and napkin. My daughter wore this on Mother's day and looked so precious!

A pillowcase! Perfect! And the dress is so sweet. It just shows how a creative person can make beauty wherever she goes. :)

So precious! I always have pieces like that -- something about it is not the same anymore, but I still can't bear to part with it. Thanks for the great idea! :)
