Baby Costume Patterns and DIY Dress up Fun

Looking for baby costume patterns or some dress up time ideas? Whether it be just for fun, or for the Halloween season, making your own costumes can be a great creative outlet and so much fun for both Momma and Baby!

Around the Hatch household we play dress up almost daily. Children gain such a feeling of joy and creativity, and even empowerment from dressing up as inspiring characters form their favorite books or movies, or by embodying their favorite animals. You can often find me not only at home, but at the playground or grocery store accompanied by little princesses, ferocious dragons, and fuzzy meowing kitty cats. Dress up is for any time with us!

Costumes can be as detailed and elaborate or as simple as you want them to be. You can go all out and buy lots of fancy fabric and zippers and go to town on a gorgeous full body costume. Or you can do as little as glueing some fuzzy ears onto a headband. Your kids will love it all the same!

Here are some of my baby costume patterns, and easy and low budget ways to come up with cute costumes for babies and toddlers alike. Make em' for Halloween or just for something fun to do and play with!

Baby Tutu

Make a Baby Tutu! This is a super cute and very easy to make costume piece. Great for any dress up time or for putting together a fairy princess, or ballerina costume.

Magic Wand

Make a Fairy Wand. A good costume accessory or cute toddler toy. Match it with the tutu to make a great fairy princess costume.

Bunny Ears

These Baby bunny Costume Ears are pretty easy to make and are cute as can be. All they need is a little black nose, some whiskers, and a cotton tail. Add these ears to a pink, blue, or white footie sleeper for the perfect DIY costume.
