Make Your Own Calendar

A Printable Template to Make Your Own Calendar to Chronicle
Baby's First Year and Milestones

A handmade calendar is really fun to make, is a wonderful baby craft keepsake, and makes a great gift too. I've been making my own calendars for years now. I love to make them by hand rather than to order a customized calendar from a printer or online. You get to add so much more sentimental detail. It gives you the freedom to really get creative. Besides, it pretty much costs the same in the end, and if you play your cards right it will cost even less.

print and make your own calendarScrap Your Own Calendar. For those of you who are into scrapbooking, or would like to get started, this is such a fun project. Just use all of your scrapbooking materials and supplies to decorate your calendars. It's a great way to immortalize the exact months and dates that your baby had all of his/her first milestone moments.

Make the perfect sentimental gift. I've given handmade calendars to family members on Christmas and they were always very well received. One year I actually made one for my grandmother featuring her own children when they were young. It wasn't easy! I actually had to go in and hijack a bunch of old photos from her. I brought my mother with me to distract her while I filled my pocketbook with whatever pictures I could get my hands on. It was hilarious but I felt kind of bad too, like I was stealing or something. In the end it was worth it. She absolutely loved the calendar. She actually had tears in her eyes when she saw it. It still hangs in her bedroom to this day, even though that was more than ten years ago.
A great way to make multiples of the same calendar is to get the original calendar color copied. You can even have the calendars binded at the copy shop while you are at it.
