Although, one thing I am noticing more and more often is that each and every store is selling a lot of the same old stuff. Our babies are going around looking like little clones of each other! When I do manage to find a piece of baby clothing that does happen to be unique, cool, or different, it ends up being super expensive.
Why spend a fortune on something that your baby will outgrow in a month!? I love to dress my baby up in clothes that are modern and hip. Enough of these overly cutesy clothes. You know the one's... They all have kittens, or ballerinas or teddy bears on them. We are living in the new millennium. I want my baby in clothes that are like what everyone else wears, just scaled down to size. So I set out to make the coolest baby clothing I could come up with. Hip baby clothing. It just makes sense to me to make baby clothes myself. I mean, I'm not telling you to make your baby's entire wardrobe. But why not add a few really unique handmade pieces to the ones you already own, and maybe throw in a few accessories. If you make your own baby clothing you can get unique styles that would cost a fortune in the boutiques. You will pay 1/4 of that price by making them yourself. It's not all work... I'll tell you, sewing baby clothes does not have to be as hard as it seems. And I'll let you in on a little secret. It's fun! Once you get started you will not be able to stop. It really is addictive! And it feels great when people stop you on the street to ask where you got that fabulous baby outfit! Add bows, ribbon, and flowers to give them your own special touch.

Unlike knitting or crocheting you can finish a simple project in under an hour, or even less for a more experienced seamstress.

Here's a regular old baby kimono onesie That I added a little bit of hand sewn embellishment to. Just a couple cute little accents really does make a big difference. This project was really easy and took under an hour to finish.
