For me, dressing my children in some of the cutest and most unique clothes I can find is something I get A LOT of enjoyment from. The only problem is so many of the stores are carrying many of the same clothes and the same styles. When I do find clothes that I really like, a lot of the time they also carry a hefty price tag. I mean, seriously, the baby will grow out of this stuff in a month!
So I started to make my own baby clothing! Making baby clothes is so much fun! Not only do I save a lot of time, I also save a lot of money, and the sewing projects are very stress relieving too. But don't worry if you do not know how to sew. There are so many projects you can do to alter baby clothing you already have. Or just go out and buy a lot of very plain and cheap baby clothes and alter them into cute and stylish little outfits. And if you really want to save some money, just make your baby's clothing out of old unwanted clothes that you were getting ready to give to the Good Will anyways.

Below are some of my ideas and tutorials for altering your baby's clothes, as well as patterns to make your own baby clothing. Any of these ideas can be used to turn some of your old clothes into new duds for the little one. You can even use othere household items like tea cloths and hand towels.

There are many ways to customize your baby's clothing without the use of a sewing machine, knitting or crocheting. Here's how you can change ordinary boring clothing like plain onesies and bottoms into unique and stylish baby clothes, and not break the bank.

Customize baby clothing by using fabric paint crafts and handmade stencil to create cool and unique graphics, sayings, and logos. Get creative! There are many different kinds of paints to choose from as well, like glitter and metallic paints.

Use iron-on transfer paper to make custom baby clothes. It's sooo easy to use and you can create clothing and other gear to match any kind of personal style.

Here's a regular old baby kimono onesie That I added a little bit of hand sewn embellishment to. Just a couple cute little accents really does make a big difference. This project was really easy and took under an hour to finish.
